Make paper models with Artist Jennifer Linderman — Learn the basic folds of Origami and advance your knowledge and folding skills to create models such as animals, geometric shapes, modulars, flowers, and even mythological creatures.

Magnificent Useless Machines with Artist Anna Kingsley — Study the basic machine principals such as lever, pulley, gears, and more. And then create a machine that does only one action, and does it very well. You’ll use cardboard, hot glue, rubber bands, and more to build your masterpiece machine.

Sew What? with Artist Angie Wilson — Learn a variety of sewing machine techniques to make backpacks, pillows, wallets, stuffies, and anything else your imagination allows.



Make puppets with Artist Taylor Gersbach — Explore different ways to make puppets and then create your own puppets with fabric, wood and just about anything else you can find. Use your puppet-characters to create a story at the end of the week.

Cook like a chef - Learn how to make a variety of delicious foods using techniques that all the chefs use in their own cooking. At the end of the week, prepare a feast for your parents.

Bamboozle! with Thingamajigs Teaching Artists- Explore how bamboo is used to build orchestras of diverse and melodic sounds, and make your own bull roarers, xylophones, rasps, percussion tubes and string zithers. Learn to write scores and compose a short work for performance on the final day.



Make silk screens with Artist Taylor Gersbach — Learn about the magical power of the sun, as you use light sensitive emulsion to coat, expose, and develop silk screens with your art and print multiples. At the end of the week, you’ll make a work of art with a print of everyone's work.

Sew what you imagine — Learn to sew by hand as well as by machine as you develop and complete two to three projects such as: stuffies, aprons, tote bags and more.

Sculpt with Thingamajigs Teaching Artists — Explore balance, weight, and aesthetics to construct unique sculptures with a mix of artistic mediums and materials that would otherwise be discarded. Reduce, reuse, refurnish and take home your sculpture for everyone to see.



Paint and draw with Artist Taylor Gersbach — As a young creative artist, you’ll learn about some of the most exciting visual artists throughout the world and use your style to make your own masterpieces.

Move in the rhythm of Capoeira — Let loose and take your shoes off to explore Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art-form that combines martial arts, dance, gymnastics, music and singing. Learn the fundamental movements in a fun environment and by the end of the week, dance or do cartwheels all the way home. 

Make instruments with Thingamajigs Teaching Artists — Combine music, art and science to create your own wacky musical instruments from recycled objects. Through the trash-to-treasure process of instrument-building, you’ll learn about the science of sound and apply it to create musical games and compositions. At the end of the week, you’ll take your personalized instruments home.



Make animated stories with Artist Yael Levy — Learn how to make short, simple animations with analog tools. Start with flip books and work your way through the process of stop motion animation. Create storyboards, characters and backgrounds and in the end, bring them all to life with a camera.  

Cook like an artist — Explore traditional cuisines and learn how flavors of specific foods explode, recede, or change based on your cooking methods. Play with the texture, flavor, and other aspects of your produce, to understand how it all affects our experience.

Make a song with Artist Taylor Gersbach — From folk songs, to jingles, to protest songs, work together to draw inspiration from our ancestors and create a song in your own way.



Scientific Illustration (Color Pencil) with Artist Jennifer Linderman — Learn the traditional art form of scientific illustration as you draw a variety of biological subjects from plants to insects to fish to even bones. “Draw WHAT you see and not what you THINK you see” via a variety of techniques: measuring, lighting, and still life examples.

Talk with drums — Learn how every culture in the world has used rhythm and drumming to communicate and create your own percussion instrument. Gather into your own drumming group and create sound pieces together. At the end of the week, take home your personalized handmade instrument.



Collage and color blending with Artist Anna Kingsley — Learn to blend colors as you mix and arrange multi-colored geometric designs, and group/sort multicolored material into basic color groups to generate complex patterns and designs.

Cook like an artist — Explore traditional cuisines and learn how flavors of specific foods explode, recede, or change based on your cooking methods. Play with the texture, flavor, and other aspects of your produce, to understand how it all affects our experience.

Make sounds out of anything with Artist David Samas — Learn how musical instruments work and then create your own with materials found in your backyard and recycle-bin. Organize sounds to create a visual score, practice your performance skills and perform with your score at the end of the workshop.



Make paper with Artist Anna Kingsley — Use pre-made paper pulp to make paper, experiment with unconventional additives to create designs with different colors of pulp on one sheet, and at last, make your own pulp with a blender and materials in the recycle bin.

Make Botanimals with Artist Jennifer Linderman — Learn to draw animals and botanic elements such as plants, trees, flowers, etc. and fuse the two subjects together to create “Botanimals”. Use and play with a variety of mixed media: watercolor, ink pens, markers, colored pencil, stamps and more.

Make LED art with Artist No.e Parker — Create a mix of electronic art such as wearable LED superhero wrist band, solar-powered jiggle bots and LED/paper circuit art, rechargeable walking T-rex robots and more.
